HuProt: Redefining What’s Possible in Proteome Scale Discovery
In proteomics, two factors are non-negotiable: comprehensive coverage and reproducibility. Researchers need tools that can deliver breadth of protein representation without compromising on data quality. The HuProt™ Human Proteome Microarray was developed with that exact purpose in mind, to provide the most complete, rigorously validated, and versatile platform for proteome wide analysis.
The latest version of HuProt™ contains over 21,000 unique full length human proteins and isoforms, representing more than 81% of the human proteome and covering 16,794 genes. This includes 15,889 canonical proteins, as defined by the Human Protein Atlas. Each protein is individually expressed in yeast, purified using GST tags, and subjected to stringent quality control after printing on the array to ensure correct folding and functional integrity. This rigorous approach allows HuProt™ to accurately present both linear and conformational epitopes, enabling true proteome scale immune profiling with confidence.
From Scale to Precision: How HuProt Delivers Reliable Data
Printing is performed using advanced non-contact piezoelectric inkjet technology, producing consistently shaped protein spots with low background noise and excellent signal to noise ratios. As a result, HuProt arrays demonstrate exceptional batch to batch reproducibility, with R² values of approximately 0.96 observed across production lots. For researchers, that level of consistency means data you can depend on study after study.
A typical HuProt assay is straightforward yet highly informative. Patient serum or plasma is incubated with the array, allowing antibodies in the sample to bind to their protein targets. Isotype-specific fluorescent secondary antibodies (such as IgG, IgM, or IgA) are then applied, and binding is measured using a microarray scanner. Researchers receive both raw data and, if requested, statistically analysed outputs, delivering a rich dataset ready for interpretation and downstream analysis.
Beyond Seromics: A Versatile Discovery Platform
HuProt is more than a platform for seromics. Its versatility makes it equally valuable for drug target identification, mapping protein–protein interactions, assessing protein to small molecule binding, and exploring post translational modification specificity. Whether the goal is biomarker discovery, early stage drug development, or fundamental research into disease mechanisms, HuProt delivers high throughput, high content insights from a single slide.
Trusted by Researchers Worldwide
The scientific community is already recognising HuProt’s impact. “We elected to use the HuProt Microarray because it is an extensive platform that contains over 21,000 unique, individually purified full length human proteins and protein isoforms in duplicate, covering more than 81% of the proteome,” notes an oncologist at the School of Medicine Research.
That capability is matched by the expertise and support of the CDI Labs team. As Matthieu Roulleaux Dugage of Gustave Roussy explains: “With CDI Labs, identifying antibodies and their targets has never been so simple. Their passionate team, robust science, and high quality service unlock the discovery of new mechanisms, biomarkers, and therapeutic targets.”
By combining unmatched proteome coverage with precision manufacturing and broad applicability, HuProt has redefined what’s possible in proteomics. It provides a direct route from complex biological questions to reproducible, high quality data, accelerating discovery and enabling new scientific breakthroughs.
